Pioneers could buy and sell nails, axes, cheese, flour, butter, apples, eggs, buckets, guns, blankets, plough points, wagon wheels, stoves, windows, suits, hats, shirts, jars, knives, cooking pots, chains, string, yarn, whale oil, bees wax, lamps, saddles, and many other things. If the General Store did not have what a pioneer wanted the shopkeeper could make special a order to get what was wanted.
